Candle Holder/Incense Holder by Pieces of Venice

Pieces of Venice, winner of the 2020 Compasso d’Oro, is the first Benefit Company to create design objects and souvenirs dedicated to Venice, using recycled materials from the city. A candle holder made from recycled wood from Venice’s bricole (wooden mooring posts), designed to hold a traditional candle, a tea light, or incense. The name of this object recalls the address of the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute in Venice, built to thank the Virgin Mary for deliverance from the plague that decimated the Venetian population between 1630 and 1631.
